One Heart, One Mind, infinite Soul
The Promised Poet

My journey into the world of communication started with overcoming a unique limitation in my life ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyper Disorder) and a slight speech impediment were my two best friends that stuck to be very closely, my elementary school teachers chose to teach me at arm's length when it came to my education, because of this diagnosis, in their eyes I was a very passionate child who held no interest in learning, because of this treatment I regressed from remedial classes to assistant classes to deal with my “disability”. I had yet to realize what it meant "to speak up for yourself" and simply did as I was told. As my adolescence years went on I began to develop new and better methods of communication, had it not been for the patience of a select few teachers, and my mother’s discipline I could see myself being half of the individual that I currently view myself as today. I believed fitting in (pretend to not know the answers to questions, and not wanting to be called on in class) was more than necessary for me to be accepted by my fellow students, only after a handful of one-on-one lectures from both my mother, and my teachers, helped to align my perspective on how I really should view my academics; rather than ignore the teacher; when they questioned me about homework assignments, or in class discussions, instead I found myself being the first one to not only raise my hand but give the correct answer.
You never forget your first time, this is true especially for me about acknowledging my academic achievements, I still remember sitting at a parent-teacher conference, and watching my baffled instructor inquire to my mother how I was able to make such a drastic change to my school grades in such little time, it is the lack of interest or desire in said materials that motivated me to such passion at first; my mindset was “I already know the answers to these questions why do I have to be the one to respond” too “I believe I know the answer allows for me to demonstrate my knowledge, and give the instructor a chance to correct me” to those eager and caring parents who may find themselves reading this section allow me to speak on the behalf of most kids everywhere; “We don’t seek disciplinarily actions only discussions that allow us to be heard and felt. I can recall to this day hearing teachers comment on my work “ I never knew he could write and speak like this.” or “He seems more advanced than we first thought”.
This divine word known as "knowledge" is what moves me so, rather than seeking a path of redemption for those who doubted my ability, I desired to further my pursuit of retention and others' abilities that would help others realize their voice. The momentum of charting out my course to a new life was a passion that needed top priority, only because at that leg of my journey currently around the sun I was just starting my last years of undergrad college, and had an unwavering desire to help others, thanks to the divine cosmic, I inevitably crossed paths with other like-minded warriors of light, who only seemed to help others find their voice and be humbly authentic. This process would then be vetted out through a spiritual synergetic process known as `poetry performances ` or otherwise known as –safe space open mic conversations- which allowed for us to create environments for people of all ages to gather, and to share both stories and experiences, it gave insight along with a sense of renewal to the spirit, my fellow warriors and I went on to create an LLC org known as Power 2 The poetry which was a non-profit org that lasted for 4 years, in new opportunities for anyone who sought to speak up on sensitive issues within the community, and allowing them to have a platform which would allow them and others to be seen, and heard. The reason for this was that at the current time, there were no other groups who dedicated themselves to this pursuit so passionately, from leaving 9-5 jobs to feeding the homeless and speaking at afterschool clubs, to Ted X talks at the Bing Cosby we’ve done it all and have no regrets.
Currently, I exist as a helper of the people, seeking new ways to be of service to my community as well as humankind, through the use of poetry as my medium any goals in my life can and will be achieved.
